Exceeds All Performance Requirements of Light and Heavy-Duty Diesel Engines

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Diesel Oil is a modern blend of high performance synthetic base stocks, natural base stocks, and advanced additives. It provides outstanding performance and protection over extended drain intervals in light and heavy-duty diesel engines.

Remains Stable at Temperature Extremes

AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 does not change viscosity (thicken or thin) at temperature extremes like conventional motor oils. With its advanced semi-synthetic formulation, AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 is significantly more shear stable than conventional oils, retaining its viscosity at temperatures and loads that break down conventional motor oils.

Resists Oxidation - Reduces Engine Wear

Conventional oils oxidize at high temperatures, causing sludge and deposit build-up that decrease fuel efficiency, contribute to corrosion, and increase engine wear. AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Motor Oil resists oxidation and thermal breakdown far better than conventional oils. It continues to lubricate, cool and protect at temperatures that oxidize conventional oils. In addition, the advanced heat transfer capabilities and high lubricity of AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 help engines run cooler with less wear.

Extended Drain Intervals

AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 is formulated for extended drain intervals. Its unique synthetic formulation, excellent detergent/dispersant capabilities, and long drain additive package ensure maximum engine protection, cleanliness, and performance over extended drain periods. In fact, 12 TBN AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Motor Oil keeps engines in "like-new" condition even when the oil is used for extended service intervals.

Improves Cold Weather Performance

Due to their wax content, conventional oils thicken in cold temperatures and, on cold starts, may take as long as five minutes to lubricate internal engine parts. AAMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 stays fluid at very low temperatures. It circulates rapidly to provide vital lubrication and prevent engine wear caused by lack of oil flow. AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 allows quicker, easier cold temperature starting with less engine wear.

Reduces Oil Consumption

AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 is low volatility oil. Low volatility means less oil vapor passing into the combustion chamber. A reduction of oil vapor means lower oil consumption and lower exhaust emissions. The high detergent alkalinity of AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 also helps reduce oil consumption.

Improves Fuel Economy and Reduces Emissions

The premium quality synthetic base oil in AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 provides a tough lubricating film on all engine parts, reducing friction and fuel consumption. Reducing fuel consumption reduces exhaust emissions.

Protects Against Rust and Corrosion

AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 contains special rust-inhibiting additives. It is ideal for use in engines used intermittently.

MIXING AMSOIL

AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 is compatible with petroleum and synthetic lubricants; however, mixing the AMSOIL with other oils will shorten the extended drain period. Oil additives or after-market products are not recommended for use with AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Motor Oil.

NEW VEHICLE UNDER WARRANTY

The use of AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Diesel Motor Oil will not void new vehicle warranties. New vehicle warranties are based on the use of oils meeting specific API service classifications and SAE viscosity grades. AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 meets and exceeds all current API and SAE requirements (as labeled) and is perfectly suited for use in any new vehicle stipulating those requirements as manufacturer's recommendations.

SERVICE LIFE

  • Light-duty diesel engines, non-turbocharged diesel engines, heavy-duty diesel engines, turbocharged diesel engines, fleet vehicle engines and industrial engines: drain oil at intervals up to two times longer than those recommended by the engine manufacturer, or 6 months, whichever comes first if extended drains are supported by the findings of a used oil analysis program.
  • Personal car and light truck non-turbocharged gasoline engines: drain oil at intervals up to two times longer than those recommended by the engine manufacturer or one year, whichever comes first.
  • Non-commercial, turbocharged passenger car gasoline four-cycle engines, motorcycles, small off-road four-cycle gasoline engines, marine craft engines and infrequently used four-cycle gasoline automotive engines: use engine manufacturer's oil drain recommendations.
  • High-performance or racing engines: drain oil at intervals determined by the findings of a used oil analysis program.

Change AMSOIL Full Flow Oil Filters at 12,500 mile or six month intervals, whichever comes first, in gasoline engines. In diesel engines change AMSOIL Oil Filters at 7,000 miles or six months, whichever comes first. Change other manufacturers' filters at the engine manufacturer's recommended filter change intervals.
